Today, we were history detectives tasked with deciding whether a photo was showing the past or the present. We talked about how things in the past happened a long time ago whereas things in the present are happening now. We looked for clues in the photos – technology/electricity, uniforms and vehicles – to determine whether they were past or present. We discussed how black and white photos are usually from the past, but not always. Mr Jobes tricked us by turning a photo from the present black and white and choosing some colour photos from the past.
