Today in our celebration of the word, we began with an opening prayer before reminding ourselves of The Golden Rule; treat others how you would like to be treated. Thinking about this and the message of this, we listened to a new piece of scripture where we were reminded of the importance of the Golden rule and how we need to work together to live in harmony. Thinking carefully about the scripture, we looked at how we could apply it to our lives, specifically thinking about the 9 protected characteristics. We discussed how we must never discriminate against one of these 9 protected characteristics, as that would be a lawful offence. We looked at each of the 9 protected characteristics, unpicking them and suggesting ways that we can ensure everyone can live in harmony together. As we go forth, we are going to show other people how we can live out the golden rule, treating others how they would like to be treated.
