Our new maths module is called ‘Manipulate, Compose and Decompose’. Our first lesson was focused on selecting shapes for purpose. The first activity saw us given a selection of shapes and we had to explain which one didn’t belong, and why. With Miss Linton, we had to use shapes to create a design before explaining what we’d made and which shapes we’d chosen for specific parts. Within the provision, there was a further activity where we had to use instructions to make designs using shapes.
