This week in our RE lesson, we were tasked with reflecting upon the important question: What messages about love and forgiveness can we learn from Jesus’ actions. We began our lesson by ordering 8 words that we were given from most important to least important. After doing this and justifying our choices, we listened to a piece of scripture where Jesus shared with his people values that they should try and live by, also known as the beatitudes. We quickly realised that the words in front of us were the beatitudes and were different ways that Jesus wanted people to live. Next, we read three insights into the lives of people from our school and parish. We used our knowledge of the beatitudes to explain which beatitudes they had used through either their actions or words. Soon after this, we discussed the order of the beatitudes again. We quickly realised that not one of them is more important than the other, they are all qualities which work together. Finally, in our tables, we each wrote a prayer thanking God for helping us to live out the beatitudes in our daily lives.
